Israeli airstrike in Rafah kills 20, says Gaza health ministry

An Israeli airstrike in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, killed 20 Palestinians and wounded 55 others, according to Ashraf Al-Qidra, a Gaza health ministry spokesman, on Thursday.

Rescue efforts were hampered as people sifted through rubble amid road obstructions and a shortage of fuel, with ambulances and rescue teams struggling to access the area.

Victims, including children, women, and men, were transported to the Kuwaiti hospital in Rafah for treatment.

The health ministry also reported that in the past 24 hours, 210 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes, bringing the total death toll to 21,320, almost 1% of Gaza’s population. Authorities fear that thousands more may be buried or lost in the ruins.
