Taliban have returned the bodies of two Pakistani soldiers killed in recent border clashes, sources familiar with the matter said.
The soldiers were killed during fighting in the Shorabak district of southern Kandahar province, the sources said.
According to the sources, the two bodies were among five Pakistani soldiers whose remains were handed over to Pakistan with the mediation of local tribal leaders.
A Pakistani source also confirmed to Amu that the bodies of two Pakistani army soldiers had been returned.
The source said Pakistan carried out a similar handover of bodies in return, but did not provide further details about the exchange.
Clashes between Taliban forces and Pakistani troops have continued for 12 days along parts of the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
During the fighting, Taliban defense ministry has claimed that 327 Pakistani soldiers were killed, while Pakistan has said more than 580 Taliban fighters were killed in the border clashes.
