Afghanistan beat Scotland by 61 runs in T20 warm-up

Afghanistan recorded a 61-run victory over Scotland in a T20 warm-up match on Monday, with bowlers and batters combining for a dominant performance.

Batting first after winning the toss, Afghanistan posted 184 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. Darwish Rasooli top-scored with 84 before retiring out, while Ibrahim Zadran added 36 and Mohammad Nabi contributed 34.

In reply, Scotland were bowled out for 123 in 19.3 overs.

Afghanistan’s bowling unit was led by Azmatullah Omarzai, who took 3 for 14, while Mohammad Nabi claimed 2 for 9 as Scotland struggled to keep pace with the required run rate.

Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan had elected to bat first after winning the toss.

The match was Afghanistan’s first warm-up fixture, with the team scheduled to face West Indies in their second warm-up on Feb. 4, the Afghanistan Cricket Board said.
