Afghanistan U19 beat Nepal by six wickets at Asia Cup

Afghanistan’s under-19 cricket team beat Nepal by six wickets on Wednesday to finish their campaign at the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2025 with a victory.

Chasing 124, Afghanistan reached 125 for four in 26.5 overs, led by Uzairullah Khan Niazi, who scored a half-century. Nepal were earlier bowled out for 124 in 46.4 overs.

Afghanistan’s Zaitullah Shaheen was named Player of the Match for his bowling performance, taking three wickets for 19 runs from his 10 overs to help restrict Nepal.

The win came after a difficult tournament for Afghanistan U19, who lost their opening match to Bangladesh by three wickets on Dec. 13 and were narrowly beaten by Sri Lanka by two wickets on Dec. 15, with Sri Lanka chasing down a target of 236 in the final over.

Afghanistan’s victory over Nepal ensured they ended the tournament on a positive note after back-to-back close defeats earlier in the competition.
