India B defeats Afghanistan by two wickets in U19 Tri-Series clash

Afghanistan came close to securing a memorable win against India B U19 in the ongoing Youth Triangular Series 2025 but ultimately fell short, losing by two wickets in the penultimate over.

Batting first, Afghanistan posted a competitive total of 202 for 9 in their 50 overs. The innings was anchored by a stellar 96-run knock from Uzair Khan, who faced 107 balls and hit four fours and six sixes. He was well supported by Khatir Stanikzai, who remained unbeaten on 24 off 45 balls. Khalid Ahmadzai also contributed with 18 runs from 39 deliveries.

India B’s bowling attack was led by BK Kishore, who returned impressive figures of 3 for 19 in his 10 overs, maintaining a miserly economy rate of 1.90.

In response, India B chased down the target in 48.1 overs, finishing at 206 for 8. Vedant Trivedi played a crucial role in the run chase, scoring 83 off 102 balls, including four fours and a six.

Afghanistan’s bowlers kept the pressure on, with Nazeefullah Amiri taking 3 for 32 and Salam Khan and Khatir Stanikzai claiming two and one wickets respectively. India B were at 118 for 6 after 31 overs, but managed to recover and clinch the victory.

This was the third match for Afghanistan Future Stars in the tournament. They are scheduled to face India A U19 in their next match.
