At least four militants were killed on Friday after attacking a key security forces installation in North Waziristan, local officials said.

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said the forces foiled the attack, stating that “four terrorists” were killed n the Khadi village area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Pakistani media reported that the militants used an explosive-laden vehicle to ram the main entrance of the security headquarters in what was described as a suicide bombing.

The explosion was followed by heavy gunfire as the attackers attempted to breach the compound. Security forces responded swiftly, killing at least four assailants. The operation in the area is ongoing.

The incident came a day after the Pakistani military reported killing 34 militants during operations in North Waziristan, South Waziristan, and Bannu districts, all in the same province.

Separately, a powerful explosion was reported in Bajaur district, where a parked vehicle loaded with explosives detonated in the Mamund Tangi Shah area. No casualties were immediately reported.
