Afghanistan’s national futsal team has secured a spot in the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup in Indonesia after defeating Myanmar 8-0 in the qualifiers on Wednesday.
The victory in Yangon ensured Afghanistan’s direct qualification for the tournament, which will feature 16 teams and be hosted by Indonesia.
Afghanistan began its qualifying campaign strongly, beating the Maldives 10-1 in its opening match.
The qualifying tournament, hosted by Myanmar, brought together 31 teams in eight groups and began on Sept. 20. It concluded Wednesday, Sept. 24.
