A rockslide in eastern Nuristan province killed two people and injured two others on Wednesday, local sources said.
The victims were road workers on the Nuristan-Kunar highway, where the slide occurred in the Chateras area near the provincial capital, Parun, the sources said. The injured were taken to a hospital and were reported to be in critical condition.
The rockslide comes a day after another in neighboring Nangarhar province wounded 15 people in Dara-e-Noor district.
That slide was triggered by a moderate earthquake that jolted Kabul as well as the eastern provinces of Kunar and Nangarhar on Sept. 23.
