Blast happens near school in north of Kabul

A blast happened near Mawlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi High School in the north of Kabul on Saturday but caused no casualties, according to Taliban officials.

The blast was due to explosives placed near the school, a Taliban spokesman Khalid Zadran said.

He did not provide more details but a source said the explosives were placed to target students.

Residents of the area said the sound of the blast was loud and that it created fear among the people.

This comes a day after a deadly suicide bombing near an education center in the west of Kabul in which over 30 students were killed and 40 more were wounded.
