KABUL — The Taliban-run Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rain and potentially fatal floods across 18 provinces in Afghanistan.

In a statement, the department announced that heavy rains and floods are expected on June 7 and 8 in the provinces of Badakhshan, Takhar, Baghlan, Panjshir, Nuristan, Kunar, Laghman, Kapisa, Parwan, Kabul, Maidan Wardak, Bamyan, Daikundi, Ghazni, Logar, Nangarhar, Paktia, and Khost.
