Former President Hamid Karzai has traveled to the United States to attend the funeral of his brother, Abdul Qayum Karzai, sources close to the former president confirmed to Amu.
Abdul Qayum Karzai, the brother of Hamid Karzai, passed away last Wednesday in Maryland.
Sources report that Karzai arrived in Virginia on Sunday and traveled to Maryland on Monday to participate in the burial ceremony.
Following the funeral, he is expected to return to Germany.
According to sources, Karzai left Kabul for Germany on May 20 for medical treatment.
