Pakistan has repeatedly accused the Taliban of supporting the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), although the Taliban has denied these allegations.

The Pakistani media reported that the Foreign Ministry lodged a formal complaint regarding the incident, where protesters stormed the consulate.

The statement also criticized German authorities for their “failure” to prevent the incident.

On Friday, several people were killed and wounded when Pakistani forces opened fire on thousands of protesters.

In addition to the fatalities, thousands have been injured in the clashes, according to data from hospitals across the country.

Organizers of the protest said on social media that the protest turned violent when the Pakistani military opened fire on.

"The terrorist was taken into custody following a meticulously planned operation," Gondal said.

"Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group, along with Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of civilians and law.

The army has since deployed additional troops to the area as the search for militants continues.

Among the dead were seven army members and one paramilitary soldier.
