Residents of the Argo district in Badakhshan province took to the streets to protest against the Taliban on Saturday morning, following a similar demonstration by residents of the provincial Darayim district on Friday, sources informed Amu.
A protester stated that the “relentless oppression” by the Taliban has pushed the people to their limits, prompting them to demand the expulsion of the Taliban from their areas, according to the source.
Meanwhile, some sources reported that the Taliban resorted to gunfire in an attempt to disperse the protest.
The Taliban has not yet issued a statement regarding the incident.
