Investors from Afghanistan, Uzbekistan sign contracts worth $44 million

Uzbekistan has agreed to sign export contracts valued at $44 million with Afghan businessmen, according to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.

The contracts were finalized during a three-day visit to Tashkent by a delegation of Afghan businessmen, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan reported as quoted by The Times of Central Asia on Tuesday, April 30.

According to the report, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan are also planning to establish an Uzbekistan-Afghanistan Business Council, which will include 18 Afghan companies as members.

Afghanistan’s import market is valued at $7 billion.

The products most in demand by Afghanistan’s importers include agricultural goods, processed food, textiles, leather, electrical components, and construction materials.
