Afghanistan clinched a three-run victory over Sri Lanka in the third and final T20 match of their series. The win follows two previous losses for Afghanistan in the three-match T20 series.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Afghanistan’s openers set a strong pace. Rahmanullah Gurbaz notched up 70 runs off 43 balls, and Hazratullah Zazai contributed 45 off 22 balls.
Sri Lanka faced a challenging target of 201 runs set by Afghanistan. Despite valiant efforts from Kamindu Mendis, scoring 65 off 39 balls, and Pathum Nissanka with 60 runs off 30 balls, Sri Lanka fell short of victory. Afghanistan’s Wafadar Momand’s final over proved costly, but the Afghan team held on to secure their win.
