Four teams, including Kandahar, Kunduz, Samangan, and Sar-e-Pul, have advanced to the semifinals of Afghanistan’s Buzkashi League following the final day of the quarterfinals.
Tuesday’s matches featured Kunduz against Panjshir, Samangan versus Kandahar, and Sar-e-Pul facing Badakhshan. Kunduz secured a spot in the semifinals with a 1-0 victory over Panjshir.
In a closely contested match, Samangan drew 1-1 with Kandahar but advanced to the next round based on previous scores. Sar-e-Pul also made it to the semifinals, defeating Badakhshan 1-0 in a tough match.
Previously, Baghlan had beaten Balkh 5-1, and Sar-e-Pul triumphed over Panjshir 7-0 to become semifinalists.
This year’s Buzkashi league, held in Kabul, saw participation from twelve teams representing 12 provinces. It marks the fifth year of the event.
