Iran and the Taliban have formalized five crucial economic cooperation agreements encompassing transportation, civil aviation, mining, and free trade zones, as reported by Iranian media.
The signings took place on the fourth day of Taliban deputy chief Abdul Ghani Baradar’s visit to Tehran, according to the official Iranian news agency IRNA.
During the visit, the Taliban delegation engaged in discussions with Iranian Agriculture Minister Mohammad-Ali Nikbakht and Hassan Kazemi Qomi, the Iranian president’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan, along with meetings with Iranian and Afghan businesspeople.
The economic delegation from the Taliban, present in Iran since November 4 for various economic deliberations, held talks with influential figures such as Iranian Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi, and Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Akbar Ahmadian. Additionally, they toured several facilities in different cities, including the Chabahar Port.
