One civilian was killed and a woman was wounded in a Pakistani shelling in Nari district, Kunar province, in eastern Afghanistan on Sunday morning, the Taliban deputy spokesman, Hamdullah Fitrat said.

In a post on X, Fitrat said the shelling happened at around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday in “Shanpat” village.

In another incident, Fitrat said, a Pakistani shelling hit a “civilian vehicle” Shakin district, Paktika province, also in eastern Afghanistan, leaving no casualties.

Pakistani officials have not commented on the reported strike.

The four-day truce announced by Pakistan will end by the end of Sunday, March 22. A day earlier, Taliban said two civilians were killed in another shelling by Pakistani forces in Kunar.

Pakistan has rejected the incident, saying its forces have not violated the ceasefire.

The Taliban-Pakistan clashes continued for three weeks ahead of the temporary ceasefire. UN said that in the first two weeks of the conflict, 76 civilians were killed in eastern Afghanistan.

On March 16, Pakistan targeted a rehab center in the east of Kabul, which Taliban say killed at least 400 people. A UN official, quoted by Reuters, said at least 140 people were killed in the attack. Sources have told Amu TV that at least 200 people were killed in the strike, which Pakistan claims has targeted Taliban military facilities in the area.
