Mahipar Stars defeat Pamir by 242 runs in Nangarhar tournament

NANGARHAR — Mahipar Stars delivered a commanding performance at the NT Cricket Ground in Nangarhar province, defeating Pamir Legends by a massive 242-run margin on Day 4 of the Ahmad Shah Abdali First-Class Tournament.

The star of the match was Darwish Rasooli, who displayed masterful form with the bat, scoring 134 runs in the first innings and following it up with a 116-run knock in the second.

For his exceptional contribution, Rasooli was named Player of the Match, receiving a cash prize of AFN 10,000, along with formal honors from tournament officials.

Mahipar Stars posted impressive totals of 337 and 391/8 declared, while Pamir Legends were bowled out for 221 and 276 in their two innings. Rasooli’s consistency, along with key bowling performances from Nangyal Kharoti and Sharafuddin Ashraf — both of whom claimed five-wicket hauls — sealed the dominant victory.

The match forms part of Afghanistan’s premier domestic red-ball cricket competition, the Ahmad Shah Abdali First-Class Tournament, which showcases top-tier regional talent and remains a vital platform for national team selection.
