Nine injured in traffic accident in Bamiyan

BAMIYAN, Afghanistan — A traffic accident in the Shibar district of Bamiyan Province injured nine people, the Taliban governor’s office said on Sunday.

According to the statement, a Toyota Corolla traveling from Kabul to Bamiyan lost control due to high speed in the Sad Barg Dara Kalo area, colliding with another Corolla. The crash left nine passengers injured, including three women and a child.

The statement added that two of the injured are in critical condition.

Taliban authorities attributed the accident to driver negligence, emphasizing the need for greater caution on the roads.

Poor road conditions across Afghanistan, exacerbated by the arrival of winter, have led to a notable rise in traffic accidents in recent weeks.
