Afghanistan’s passport has been ranked the least powerful in the world, placing last at 106th on the Henley Passport Index, according to the latest report.
The index reveals that Afghan passport holders can access only 26 countries without a visa, underscoring the significant limitations faced by Afghan citizens in global mobility.
In contrast, Singapore topped the rankings as the most powerful passport, granting visa-free access to 194 destinations. Japan and Finland followed in second and third place, respectively.
The Henley Passport Index, considered the authoritative ranking of global passports, evaluates the ease of travel based on the number of destinations a passport holder can visit without obtaining a visa in advance.
The index is based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the world’s largest and most comprehensive travel information database. Henley & Partners, the firm behind the index, supplements the data with additional research to ensure accuracy and depth.
