HARARE, Zimbabwe — Afghanistan secured the ODI series against Zimbabwe with a commanding eight-wicket victory in the third match on Saturday.
The series began with a rain-affected first match, which ended in a draw. Afghanistan dominated the second match, winning by 232 runs, before sealing the series with Saturday’s decisive performance in Harare.
After winning the toss, Afghanistan elected to bowl first. Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar delivered a standout performance, taking five wickets for 33 runs in 10 overs. Rashid Khan also impressed, claiming three wickets for 38 runs in eight overs.
Chasing the target, Afghanistan’s openers made steady progress. Sediqullah Atal reached his half-century in just 50 balls, while Abdul Malik contributed 29 runs. Ghazanfar’s all-round effort earned him the Player of the Match title.
The two teams are scheduled to face off in a Test match on Thursday, continuing their competitive series.
