Qatar and Taliban sign air services agreement

DOHA, Qatar — Qatari and Taliban officials signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on air services in Doha on Monday with the aim to increase air traffic rights between the two countries, according to a statement from Qatar’s Ministry of Transport.

The MoU, aimed at expanding Qatar’s air service agreements globally, will allow Qatar’s national carrier to extend its network of international destinations.

The agreement was signed by Mohammed Faleh Al-Hajri, head of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, and Abdul Salam Haidari, the Taliban’s Deputy Minister of Transport and Aviation.

Following the signing, Al-Sulaiti and Haidari discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation in civil aviation and transportation, the statement added.
