Afghanistan’s under-17 national football team defeated Bangladesh 3-2 on Sunday in the final match of the Asian Cup qualifying round, securing the top spot in their group.
Afghanistan had already clinched a place in the 2025 AFC Asian Cup before Sunday’s game, but the victory against Bangladesh cemented their position as group leaders.
Goals from Yasser Safi, Milad Noori, and Arash Ahmadi led Afghanistan to victory in a close contest.
The qualifiers, hosted in Cambodia, saw Afghanistan perform strongly, with earlier wins over the Philippines and Macau, positioning the team as a formidable contender in the upcoming Asian Cup.
