Afghanistan to face Sri Lanka in ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup final

COLOMBO — Afghanistan A, known as AfghanAbdalyan, is set to make its debut in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup final on Sunday, facing off against Sri Lanka.

This marks Afghanistan’s first appearance in the tournament’s championship match, following a standout performance in the group stage and semifinals.

The two teams previously met in the group round, where Afghanistan clinched an 11-run victory. Afghanistan’s journey to the final has been marked by impressive wins, including a four-wicket victory over Bangladesh and a crucial 20-run triumph over India in the semifinal. Although the team stumbled against Hong Kong in the group stage, they demonstrated resilience and skill to secure a place in the final.

Sediqullah Atal has emerged as a key player for Afghanistan, amassing 313 runs with an impressive batting average of 104, positioning him as one of the tournament’s top performers.
