The Afghanistan Under-17 football team secured a dominant 8-0 victory over the Philippines in their opening match of the AFC U-17 Asian Cup Qualification for 2025.
The match took place on Monday at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Afghanistan took early control of the game, with forward Waris Shirzai scoring twice in the first half. The Afghan side continued to dominate in the second half, adding six more goals to seal the emphatic win.
Afghanistan will face Macau in their next qualifying match on Wednesday, at the same venue.
