Hezbollah has confirmed the death of its leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, following a series of Israeli airstrikes on Beirut on Friday evening. Earlier, the Israeli military reported that Nasrallah had been killed in the strikes targeting the Lebanese capital.
Before Hezbollah’s official confirmation, the French foreign ministry released a statement indicating that, according to its information, Nasrallah was dead, echoing Israeli claims made a day earlier.
Nasrallah, a prominent regional figure and key ally of Iran, had led Hezbollah for over three decades. His death comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, where the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has drawn in Hezbollah as well. In a statement, the group vowed to continue its fight against Israel, declaring its support for Gaza, Palestine, and the defense of Lebanon’s people.
