The Taliban and Pakistani border forces have once more engaged in armed clashes in the border areas of Afghanistan’s Khost province, according to sources familiar with the situation.
The skirmish occurred on Saturday evening, September 7, in the Zazai Maidan district of the province, these sources told Amu.
Several civilians were reportedly injured as a result of the fighting, and some of the wounded were taken to hospitals for treatment. Medical teams have also been dispatched to the area to provide further assistance.
The confrontation is said to have erupted after the Taliban began constructing a security post along the border—a move that has drawn repeated criticism from Pakistani officials in the past.
So far, Taliban has not issued any statements regarding the incident.
