Iran has executed nine Afghan citizens in less than two weeks, according to information released by the Iranian human rights organization Hengaw.
In the most recent case, the Iranian government executed two Afghans on Monday, August 19, at the Central Prison in Yazd Province.
The individuals were reportedly put to death for involvement in drug trafficking and premeditated murder.
Hengaw’s data indicates that in the past eight months, Iran has executed 29 Afghan citizens.
