Ex-Governor’s bodyguard killed in Bamiyan: Sources

BAMIYAN, Afghanistan — Sayed Mohammad Hosien, the bodyguard for the former governor of Bamiyan under the previous government, was killed in an attack by unidentified assailants in the Yakawolang district, according to local sources.

The attack occurred in the village of Sar-e Qol, the sources said.

While the perpetrators remain unknown, the sources suggested that personal enmity was the likely motive.

Hossain had served as a guard for Anwar Rahmati, the former governor of Bamiyan under the republic government.

Taliban has not commented on the incident.
