In a second-round qualifier for the 2026 World Cup and the Asian Cup, the national football teams of Afghanistan and Qatar ended their match in a 0-0 draw.
The game took place at the Prince Abdullah bin Jalawi Stadium in Saudi Arabia. Despite efforts from both sides, neither team managed to score. Notably, Afghanistan did not register a single shot on target.
With this draw, Afghanistan has moved up to third place in Group A with five points. Kuwait, following their draw against India, sits in fourth place with four points.
Afghanistan’s national team will face Kuwait next Tuesday in their final match of this round of the World Cup qualifiers and the Asian Cup qualifiers.
