Afghanistan’s Herat saffron has won the 2024 Superior Taste Award from the International Taste Institute, marking its ninth victory.
The institute noted that Herat saffron was selected for the award by some of the world’s top chefs.
The Taliban-run Ministry of Agriculture announced that Herat saffron was showcased at the institute’s competition and once again earned the top honor.
Herat is a leading producer of saffron, renowned internationally for its high quality.
