OCHA: Afghanistan contributes zero emissions but faces devastating climate impacts

Indrika Ratwatte, head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), stated that despite Afghanistan contributing zero emissions, its people are facing devastating impacts from climate change.

The statement comes amid severe floods that have hit several parts of Afghanistan, causing human losses and financial damage to citizens.

“Climate crisis continues to impact Afghans who have contributed zero emissions but face its devastating impacts,” Ratwatte said on X.
