UNAMA shocked by ‘deadly terrorist attack’ on tourists in Bamiyan

KABUL, Afghanistan — The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has expressed shock and dismay over the attack on tourists in Bamiyan.

In a statement on X, UNAMA said it is “deeply shocked and appalled” by the “deadly terrorist attack” on unarmed civilians and tourists in central Afghanistan.

The agency noted that it is providing assistance following the incident.

“UNAMA is deeply shocked and appalled by the deadly terrorist attack on unarmed civilians and tourists in Bamyan, central Afghanistan,” the statement read.

At least seven people, including four foreign tourists, were killed in the armed attack on Friday in the center of Bamiyan.

The attack has sparked widespread reactions both nationally and internationally.
