Afghanistan: Five killed in traffic accident in Herat

HERAT, Afghanistan — Five people were killed and 10 more were injured after a minibus collided with a motorbike in Herat-Badghis highway on Friday, sources told Amu.

According to sources, the vehicle had 13 passengers on board, while two people were riding the motorcycle.

Many such traffic accidents in Afghanistan happen due to drivers’ carelessness and lack of proper roads.

Routes connecting to western provinces are in severe condition due to floods following heavy rainfall in the area, sources said.

Moreover, the Badghis-Herat highway was closed due to floods on Friday, leading to drivers trying to look for alternative routes.
