Afghanistan: Torkham crossing closed for second day

KABUL, Afghanistan — The Torkham crossing remained closed for a second day on Friday, halting the movement of passengers and cargo trucks.

Pakistani officials stated that the crossing is closed for three days to facilitate the transfer of visa and passport control services from one building to another.

Images received by Amu show that the relocation of visa and passport control services by Pakistani officials is ongoing, with windows and barriers at the crossing being replaced.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people on both sides of the Torkham crossing are waiting to cross.
