Sources: Taliban leader travels to Kabul

KABUL, Afghanistan — Sources report that Taliban leader Hibatullah Akhundzada met with Taliban cabinet ministers and governors during his visit to Kabul at the Ministry of Interior.

According to sources, there have been heightened security measures around the Ministry of Interior for the past three days, with even nearby homes being searched.

Akhundzada arrived in Kabul on Thursday.

Details on the topics discussed in these meetings have not yet been disclosed. Taliban have also not commented on the matter.

Taliban leader has consistently avoided appearing in public.
