Qatar sends second shipment to flood-affected people in Afghanistan

MAZAR-E SHARIF, Afghanistan (AP) — A Qatari humanitarian aircraft carrying 42 tons of assistance landed in Mazar-e Sharif, the capital of Balkh province, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar announced.

This shipment is the second from the Qatari government aimed at aiding the flood-affected people in Baghlan province. According to the Qatari foreign ministry, the shipment includes food materials and essential items for creating shelters.

Earlier, Qatar sent 22 tons of humanitarian assistance to Baghlan. More than 300 people, including 50 children, have died due to the floods in the province.
