Afghanistan: Baghlan floods death toll rises to 150

The death toll from the devastating floods in Baghlan province has risen to 150, Taliban officials said Saturday.

Ghulam Rasul Qanay, Taliban’s deputy head of the provincial public works department, reported that rescuers have recovered 150 bodies from the flood-damaged Hawza-e Falol area of the province. He also expressed concerns about the potential increase in casualties.

Qanay added that the affected areas have not received any assistance from aid organizations, and noted the floods have caused significant financial losses, leaving hundreds in need of humanitarian aid.
