Sources: Telecommunication services halted in two Badakhshan districts

Telecommunication services have been suspended in the Argo and Darayim districts of Badakhshan province, according to two sources familiar with the situation.

The sources also reported that the Taliban had recently deployed additional forces to these districts as well as to the provincial capital, Faizabad.

This follows anti-Taliban protests in Darayim and Argo districts. During these protests, sources said, Taliban opened fire in an attempt to disperse the crowds, resulting in the deaths of at least two protesters, one in each district.
