Taliban’s supreme court announced that four individuals were publicly flogged in Badakhshan province for selling alcoholic beverages and pills.
The identities of the individuals were not disclosed, but the court added that one of the accused was sentenced to one year in prison and two others were each sentenced to 30 lashes.
According to a statement from the court, the fourth person was sentenced to 39 lashes.
Since December 2022, the Taliban have flogged hundreds in various provinces across the country for various offenses in public settings.
