Taliban said that three people were flogged Monday in the Ahmadabad district of Paktia province, according to a statement from Taliban supreme court.
The statement detailed that two of the individuals received 30 lashes each, while the third was struck 20 times. They were punished for charges of robbery and insults.
Over the past nearly two years, the Taliban have flogged dozens and executed several people. Human rights groups have expressed concerns over the absence of fair trials within the Taliban’s judicial system.
