Pakistan releases 15 Afghan refugees after months in detention

15 Afghan citizens, previously detained by Pakistan, have been released, according to a statement from the Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation.

The statement indicated that these individuals were returned to Afghanistan on Saturday.

They had been apprehended in Pakistan due to their lack of proper legal documentation for staying in the country. On average, they had spent between two to 18 months in prison, the statement noted.

Pakistan has recently intensified its efforts to crack down on Afghan refugees residing within its borders. According to data provided by the Taliban’s Refugee Ministry, numerous families are being deported daily by Pakistan.
