Afghanistan: Taliban publicly flogs three in Khost

KHOST, Afghanistan — The Taliban publicly flogged three people in Khost province on charges of “fraud and illicit relations,” according to a statement from the Taliban’s court.

The statement detailed that each of the three individuals received 39 lashes in a public setting.

Additionally, the court mentioned that one of the accused was sentenced to two years in prison, while the other two were sentenced to six months each.

Over the past nearly two years, the Taliban has publicly flogged hundreds in various provinces of the country for various crimes.
