Karzai condemns Herat mosque attack as ‘act of terror’

HERAT, Afghanistan — Former President Hamid Karzai condemned the recent attack on the Imam Zaman Mosque in Herat as a “terror act,” stating it violated Islamic and human values.

In a statement, Karzai expressed his condolences and wished a quick recovery to those injured.

Sources from Herat reported that seven people were killed and 10 others were injured in the attack. Meanwhile, the Taliban claimed that six civilians died and another was wounded.

The attack was also condemned by Abdullah Abdullah, former head of the High Council for National Reconciliation.
