Four killed in landslide on Kabul-Jalalabad Highway

At least four people were killed and several others injured after a rockslide in the Daronta area along the Kabul-Jalalabad highway, according to the Taliban’s governor’s office for Nangarhar. The incident occurred within Laghman province.

Mohammad Ashraf Haqshinas, Taliban’s spokesman for the Ministry of Public Work, stated that the Kabul-Jalalabad highway has been reopened after being blocked for several hours.

The Taliban did not disclose the number of people injured in the incident, noting that the rocks hit two Corolla model cars.

Landslides often occur along the Kabul-Jalalabad highway, inflicting heavy casualties. The highway is one of the main routes connecting the capital to the eastern provinces of the country.
