First Afghanistan-Turkey transit train arrives in Iran

The first transit train traveling from Afghanistan to Turkey, loaded with talc stones, has arrived at the Rawzanak station in Iran, according to media reports.

Iran’s ILNA news agency quoted an official from the Khorasan Razavi customs office stating that the train reached Iran. “In a coordinated effort to avoid delays, the Dogharon customs office will handle the customs procedures,” the official said.

This development follows earlier reports by Iranian media that Tehran had halted the first direct transit train from Afghanistan to Turkey. However, the Iranian railway authority issued a statement denying these reports, clarifying that no train had previously entered Iran.

The transit route for the train began in Herat, Afghanistan, en route to Turkey.
