Taliban: Recent floods claim at least 33 lives

Taliban said on Sunday that flooding in the past few days across various provinces has killed at least 33 people.

A spokesperson for the Taliban’s Disaster Management Authority told reporters that 27 others have been injured in the events.

According to the spokesperson, the floods have destroyed or damaged over 600 homes and killed about 200 livestock.

The flooding, particularly in the southern provinces, has also blocked several roads.

The Taliban-led Ministry of Transportation has issued a warning for potential snow, heavy rain, thunderstorms, and flash floods in 29 of Afghanistan’s 33 provinces, including Kabul, over the next 24 hours. The ministry forecasts rainfall to vary from 15 to 50 millimeters and snow accumulation to range from 15 to 40 centimeters across different regions.
