KABUL, Afghanistan — The Taliban-led ministry of transportation has issued a warning about the potential for heavy rain, snowfall, thunderstorms, and flooding across all 34 provinces of Afghanistan.

The ministry’s statement predicts rainfall amounts ranging from 15 to 50 millimeters and snowfall from 15 to 40 centimeters, varying by area.

Due to the lack of standard infrastructure, including inadequate drainage systems, citizens, especially in rural areas, face significant challenges. The frequent heavy rains and floods disproportionately affect their agricultural fields.
