KABUL, Afghanistan — Taliban on Thursday flogged three people, including a woman, in Kabul and Kandahar provinces, according to a statement by Taliban’s supreme court.

In Kabul’s Deh Sabz district, the court said, a man and a woman were lashed 35 times each on charges of “having an affair”.

The man received a four-year prison sentence and the woman was sentenced to three years in prison, said the Taliban court.

In a separate incident, the court reported that a military tribunal in the Kandahar province in southern Afghanistan administered 30 lashes to an individual described as a “criminal.”
